HERITAGE COMICS HSQ:
THE LEGACY BEGINS HERE. . .
The year was 1992. A meeting of the minds was taking place at a telephone book delivery work site on the campus of Morgan State University. Andre Campbell and Mark-Jay Brown were mapping a game plan for what would be the foundation of a new Comic Book Organization. Along with a few others at the time, they began to share ideas and concepts that would make the vision materialize. Andre's characters were already on paper and ready to be used. Mark-Jay had stories already written and characters designed as well, but was never really sure if this was something he wanted to do. Between themselves, they combined their efforts and strengths to form a cohesive bond which would later form the foundation called Heritage Comics HSQ.
In the Autumn of 1994, a co-worker of Andre brought to his attention that her son was a comic enthusiast. Andre's curiosity was piqued. That Saturday, Andre and Mark-Jay met Tyran Eades and his associates, Davon Maith and Antwonyne Williams. All three were writers, but Tyran was the lone artist. All three decided to become part of Heritage Comics HSQ.
In 1996, Mark-Jay's mother told him about a young man at her church who reminded her of him. She told him that his name was Bruce Harris. Mark told her that he did know a Bruce, but he had not seen him since art school. A few nights later his mother came home from church, called Bruce and let Mark speak to him. Mark-Jay contacted Andre and the three conversed on the phone for 15 minutes. We scheduled our next meeting at Bruce's home. Bruce Harris joined Heritage Comics HSQ that day. The foundation for Heritage Comics HSQ was complete. But unfortunately, the circle was broken for a while. Tyran, Davon and Antwonyne had signed up with the military. All three left at different times but their loss to Heritage Comics HSQ was felt. Heritage Comics HSQ, however, did continue with Andre, Mark-Jay and Bruce.
In the Fall of 1997, Tyran returned from the military. A year later, Davon returned and Antwonyne was finishing his stint. Heritage Comics HSQ was once again fully operational with all of its original members.
Currently, Heritage Comics HSQ has one member. Andre, who serves as the Founder and CEO. Andre has managed to solely keep the compay operational with his outstanding talents and skills. Now with better focus and attitude, the New Millenium will bring forth a stronger and more dedicated Heritage Comics HSQ. After all, the HSQ stands for Heart, Soul and Quality!
