Poser Tutorial
Making those little clothes fit

Don't have the Millenium group from DAZ yet and you'd like to use some children's clothing you've picked up on the net? This tutorial will cover a couples of ways to do this. It does not always work. It depends on the meshes. But, it won't hurt to give it a try as I did. The model we'll use is the P4 Nude Woman model.

Add the P4 Nude Woman to your scene.
2
Some important things to note about doing this is that because of the geometries you'll want to pose your model, including facial expressions before adding the clothing. I've found that sometimes the clothing likes to move around when you alter other things like facial features.

Once you have your pose all set up, double click the chest to open the Element Properties dialog. Uncheck the box next to "Visible". Get her hair on her and make sure you set her head as the parent.

I added the shoes here before I went on to resize the model. On the right is the model resized with the scale dial to 85%.
5
Then you can add the clothing. I'm adding a tee shirt and a skirt. As you can see below the tee shirt doesn't fit exactly so you have to use the scale dials to scale the x and z coordinates.
6
Once you've done that the shirt starts to fit a little better. If you try to change the pose now, you'll have some nastiness crop up that you'll have to probably fix in post work.
7
I scaled the tee shirt overall to 92%, xscale to 120% and zscale to 118%.

I added the skirt and it only needed a little adjustment to the xscale. That concludes one way to resize a model to fit smaller peoples clothing. Below is another way.
From the Figure menu, after you load the P4 Nude Woman into your scene, you'll see she's set to "Ideal Adult". Make sure that her body is selected and then click on Adolescent.

You're P4 Nude Woman will now have a smaller body however, her head and neck did not resize with the rest of her.
10
You'll need to use the dials to resize her head and neck so they fit proportionally.
11
Pose her and then cloth her. You'll have to change the pose of her feet and adjust the size of her shoes to about 85% so they'll fit properly.

The gal on the left is the manually resized P4 model and the gal on the right is the one resized with Figure Height from the Figure menu. You'll notice some marked differences in their body shapes particularly in the leg and shoulder areas.
